Cute Little Price Tag Holders for Market

I saw on Pinterest a while ago someone had used some vintage spools to make place cards.  I thought it was a cute idea that would translate well to using as price tag holders for my market stall.  I managed to find some that weren't massively overpriced and today set about making them all pretty!

I added some fabric, lace and ribbons in my logo colours.  Curled a bit of thick wire around and attached it to the centre using a glue gun.

Don't they look sweet!? Could also be used as photo holders!

Photo Booth Fun!

My daughter turned 10 late last year and requested a sleepover party for three of her friends.  So I got to thinking what could we do that was fun for these girls now they are a bit old for pass the parcel! Well, having seen lots of photo booth ideas and free printables on Pinterest, I decided to make a photo booth and props.

I just chopped up an old cardboard box for the booth.  Stapled some cute polka dot fabric to the inside and made the scalloped frontage from scrap-booking paper.  And added the camera and little moustaches to give it some interest.  The font is Hard Candy from DaFont. I printed it on printer paper and used the old fashioned way of transferring it onto the pattern paper using a pencil and then traced over it in black pen.

The props I made using the free printables and instructions from Accent the Party.

So here we have the Moustaches:

The mouths!

Pretty Bows:

The funky glasses, which I glammed up with a few sparkles.

These comic book speech bubbles went down well.

A jester and a queen made a great pair!

The nightcap provided lots of funny sleeping poses!

The girls had a blast with these.  I got them out for the New Years Eve party too.

Busy Busy Busy

Wow what a few weeks I've had! Can't wait to get back into cardmaking, so many birthdays have been neglected over the recent months! Sorry if that includes you!  Anyhow, here are some of the things I don't think I've shared yet....

My daughter's birthday cake! (yep I made it! First birthday cake I have ever attempted!)

Some luggage tags made using a tutorial over at Skip to my Lou.
 A cute little stocking t-shirt.
A variation on the guitar t-shirt someone asked for. Cute huh!?
And an alternative background colour and personalised Guitar t-shirt.
Thanks for stopping by.

Away for a while..

Hi folks I'm going to be away from blogging for a week or so.  So I have extended the deadline for the Rainbow challenge.  So far only one entry!  C'mon you can do better than that!!!! Haha.  I've a few completed prjects that haven't been blogged as I've been pretty busy! I might get onto scheduling some posts if time.  If not they'll be lots coming up over the coming weeks!!!

For now here is a pretty hair tie my daughter and I made together from one of her old dresses.  Here is the dress!!

And the pretty hairband.
 And the model of course!
I can't think where the tutorial for this was but if I find it I'll post a link.

See you in a week!

Thrift Store find, few new bits for the store & a card!

Phew I've been busy!!  This is a bit of a long post - you will be forgiven for simply looking at the pictures!!

If you're looking for the card it's further along in the post.....

I found this old Hello Kitty nightdress at the local thrift store for $2 a while ago.

And yesterday I finally turned it into something...well three things actually!  Doesn't she look pleased with herself!!

I was most pleased with the skirt, I've used one of my daughter's old dresses before to make her a skirt but that was pretty easy as I just chopped the top off and added elastic.  But this one was pretty much done from scratch, just kept the bottom seam as the bottom seam so I didn't have to hem it.  I love the pleats!  Of course she needed a matching t-shirt and headband!

To make the skirt I just measured 9 inches up from the bottom of the dress all around and chopped it off.  Then to make the drop waistband bit I measured around her waist and added a bit., chopped out a rectangle tall enough to house the elastic and a bit of a drop waist.  Sewed the bit for the elastic to go through and threaded it through.  Then stitched up the sides.  I then put the waist bit inside the skirt bit so the right sides were facing each other and gradually pinned the two pieces together folding the pleats as I went, then sewed it all together and voila a cute little skirt!!! [Please excuse my VERY basic description!!!]  I've added this into the Frugal Friday link  party at the shabby nest.

Also just to let you know these new things will be heading for the shop later today.

And now for the card.  I made this for friends of ours who are retiring and returning to England soon.  I think this is the first time I've used these trees, I love them!

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

Well if you stuck around this long then thank you!  Have a fab day whatever you do!

Shabby Chic Birdy Brooch ....

....added to the store.  Yep that's right I have decided to list other things in my online shops as well as the kids t-shirts.  I'm branching out so I thought I'd start off by adding this little birdy brooch.  There will be more brooches and headbands coming soon - I love making them!

Looks like momma bird is sitting in a little nest! Don't ya think?

Have a great day!

I'm sharing this little brooch on A Crafty Soiree, there are lots of other lovely projects to look at too, go on over and check it out. Thanks Katie!
