Spools Card

I bought a friend some bakers twine as a gift. So thought I would try to incorporate some into the card.

The spools stamp is from Unity, one of the kits of the month from a few years ago.

I used the RetroSketches sketch but rotated it 180 degrees.

And used the colour combination at ColourQ.  I didn't have the exact colours so I did the closest I had.  Really love that cute washi tape!

And now for some cards!

It seems to have all been about fabric here lately, but I have been making the odd card during the blog drought too, so thought I would share them today.

Can't remember who I made this bright cheerful one for, but I totally love it for all that beautiful rainbow colour!  Got a feeling it was inspired/cased by another card on my pinterest cards board. [Yep found it! You can see the original here by Lucy Abrams.]

Now I do remember who I made this next card for! Ha it was for my motorbike enthusiast Dad! He has two old bikes that he has restored and tinkers with.  I saw this digi that was free at the time and it made me giggle thinking how that might be him when he eventually grows up!

I was sorely tempted to put my Dads name in the caption but resisted.  Didn't want to rub salt in the 'ageing' wound!

And this last card was for my sister's birthday, I think, quite a while ago to match the little birdie mini quilt I made her.  It uses all the same fabrics for the bunting.

Thanks for taking a look.

A Little Blog Drought and Exciting News!

Sorry about that! Seems I have been away longer than planned.  Well it hasn't been because I haven't been crafting because believe me I have!  Instead of one long post I will endeavour to catch up with lots of individual posts!

Here are a few of the latest creations.

1. Charmalade Quilt  2. Personalised Taggie Blankie  3. Birdie Mini Quilt  4. Reindeer Cushion
5. Cupcake Purse  6. Burlap Christmas Tree Garland  7. Flavoured Vodka Chalkboard Labels
8. Daisy Scarf  9. Personalised Christmas Stocking  10. Twins Card  11. Tree Cushion
12. Scooter Purse  13. Old Git Card  14. Baby Quilt

The most exciting news is that I am planning to start teaching sewing classes again, here in Hampshire, UK.  I've added a tab to the top of the page with a link to where you can book your place if you are local!  The intention is to keep the classes project based so that a student can complete a finished project within the time frame of the lesson.  That being said, the projects will be kept small and depending on the speed of the student, they may need to be completed at home.  I want people to stop being afraid of their sewing machine and have a go at making something.

So first up on the classes will be:

If you're local please help me spread the word!

Happy Little Bunting Card

A happy little bunting card.

Paper is Stampin Up. The sentiment is from Unity. I sewed the flags in place.

I made this card to go with a little make up bag I made for a friend's birthday.

New Baby

Needed a new baby card recently and wanted something clean and simple. It needed to have grey and white to match the cute little outfit we bought. And was for a girl so obviously needed so pink in there!

Used some washi tape for the stripe and added a ribbon and three buttons. Think I used a sketch but can't remember which. Made it a few weeks ago.

Thanks for looking.

Thank you Hybrid

Recently celebrated a birthday so the need for some thank you cards arose. I found a very pretty free download here

Instead of just printing and sending though I felt the need to chop it up and add some embossing and ribbon! Probably against the rules but I just love embossing!!

Have a lovely day.

Rainbow Butterfly Case

Saw a lovely card on Pinterest a while ago that you can see here

Really loved the look of it so I decided to case it. Instead of using washi tape though, I used some rainbow striped paper that I love.

I ended up making two of these virtually identical except for different coloured bling on the butterfly.

Thanks for stopping by.

Clean and Simple: Love you to the Moon

Was inspired by the clean and simple sketch this week to make a little card for my daughter!

I just used a marker to colour the lace a matching colour! And added a bit of washi tape. Lots of embossing.

Have a lovely day!

Thinking Of You: RetroSketches & All Sorts

Was inspired to make this card for the Retro Sketches challenge and the All Sorts Challenge (Kraft)

Think it would work well for a get well card given the sentiment advert on the cream paper!

Have a lovely day!

Anniversary Mojo #303 & Bugaboo Bingo

A little anniversary card for my hubby. 13 years today!

I used the sketch at Mojo Monday but turned it on its side.

And did the bingo challenge at Bugaboo and chose to do the middle vertical line, lime & yellow, lace and a summer image (well she is wearing a summery outfit!)

WTF!

OK, so I saw a few cards using this for forty and fifty birthday cards so thought I'd jump on the bandwagon!

Think it suits this image perfectly!

I used the sketch at RetroSketches and am also submitting for the anything goes challenge at KennyK. I think I saw somewhere has an over the edge challenge this week hence my over the edge! But can't remember where I saw it! Anyone help? [edited to add: it was CAS-ual Fridays, but I missed the deadline!]

Thanks for stopping by!

Still Feeling Nifty At Fifty?!

Made this card for my brother in law who turns 50 today!

I used the Smart Aleck digital stamp by Kenny K. And just added the sentiment in a speech bubble.

I love these retro cartoon images. You can have so much fun with them!!

I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches but forgot to upload in time for the cut off! Oops keep doing that! Oh well here it is anyway!

Thanks for looking!

Father's Day Card

My dad is really into his motorbikes so he usually gets bike related cards!

I started off with the Clean and Simple sketch.

The base paper has tyre treads embossed onto it already which I thought could represent the little flags.

Thanks for looking.

You Make Me Smile....

...no really you do! Well it is now a proven fact! I tried to make a quick card....and failed. I even made it out of stickers, so no stamping or colouring and it still took me over half an hour! Clearly I am very slow!!

Oh well it's very cheery! It's made from papers and stickers from the Summer Days collection from Echo Park.

I love all these colours together.

I used the sketch at Retro Sketches. I loved Kasia's DT inspiration card where she had cut that bottom bit out so I decided to cut it out too and make a little window to spy the flowers through.

Have a lovely day.

Lovely New Baby

Made this card for one of my neighbours who just had a little boy.

I used the sketch at The Deconstructed Sketch blog.

Also entering this into the Unity Friends with Flair. The little elephant is from a Unity kit. The bingo card was a freebie from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff at MyGrafico
.
