Busy Busy Busy!!

Wow is everyone as crazy busy as me at the mo?  All I seem to be doing is either sewing, making cards or wrapping or trying to keep the house together!!!  What's it like where you live? In the part of the world I live in it is scorching at the mo, 43 degrees celcius (no idea what that is in fahrenheit (sp!?))! And some days it gets up to 47! Today was the last day of school for my daughter so I think a pool trip is in order tomorrow!

Anyhow, here are two of my newest creations, with more being finished off over the next few days!!

Thanks for looking! :)

Mojo Monday Take 2!

I just made a mini Christmas card for a friend, it's about 3 x 3.5 inches.  Thought I'd use the Mojo Monday sketch again.  Here is the sketch:

Teacher Gifts!

I am so pleased I have finished and given these out.  There were two more clipboards which didn't get photographed.  And I made about 7 of those chocolate boxes.

I'll be back later to let you know what each thing is made of and where I got my ideas. :)

Mojo Monday Sketch 117

OK so today is the first time I've participated in Mojo Monday

I know it was supposed to be circles but I didn't have a circle cutter big enough that could cut this vintage book paper, so after a few failed attempts I gave up and made it a rectangle instead!

Supplies:
Paper: Vintage book; Fancy Pants Christmas; kraft CS & Chocolate CS
Tools: heat gun; sewing machine; Fiskars threading water punch; scallop scissors
Other: Ribbon, clear embossing powder and versamark ink and brown thread

Thanks for looking.  I'll be posting some of my  teacher gifts soon.

Colour Challenge and sketch Challenge all rolled into one!

Hi there, today I have one card to share that I have made for two blog challenges!  Dawn McVey has her regular colour challenge on at the mo and the colours are really cute.  And there is also a new sketch at Get Sketchy. So I combined the two to make my card.  Thanks for the inspiration folks!

I turned the sketch on its side. I embossed snowflakes onto the chocolate brown cardstock. Of course to me no card is complete without stitching and a bit of sanding!  Rudolph and the sentiment are raised up on foam tape to give dimension and rudolph's nose was made from a bit of the rust coloured paper with dimensional magic and a bit of glitter sprinkled on top.  The bonus challenge from Get Sketchy was to make a matching envelope, which I made from scraps.

Here is a close up of Rudolph with his scarf on!  The scarf was a bit of an after thought, but I'm glad I added it now, otherwise he might have looked a bit bare and just floating there.

I decided to actually do the colour challenge when I spotted the Rudolph ribbon in my local craft shop, it was too close a match to the colours to pass up!

Thanks for looking! :)

Some cards to share..

I've been sooo busy making Teacher thank you gifts that I seem to have neglected my blog!  So now I have a few cards to share and other projects.

Here is a wedding anniversary card for my Mum and Step Dad.  The little people are embossed in silver, infact there was lots of embossing.  I loved how it turned out, but what I really wanted to do on the black section at the bottom was some dry embossing with swiss dots using a cuttlebug but as I still don't have one I heat embossed some polka dots on instead!

Most of the stamps were Stampin Up, the paper is Kaisercraft.

Next up was a quick card I made for a little boy's birthday, pretty simple, easy and effective.  Normally Jade likes to make them for her friends IF we are organised!  But on this particular day I was not organised at all!

Next up is a gift I made for Jade's dance teacher who is moving on to uni next year.

And a close up of the tag.  Jade wrote it on a regular piece of paper, I scanned it in and printed it onto matching paper.

I have made alot of these clipboards in the past and they are always appreciated by teachers.  Once you get the fiddly bit at the top done then they are actually quite simple to make.

I'll be back with more soon.

Look who's 1! & Bella is on her way.

My darling nephew, who I hardly ever get to see as we live so far away, is turning one this week! Where has the time gone!

To celebrate, I have made him this cute t-shirt!

Here's a close up of the rocket - his nickname is Ronnie Rocket!!!

The rocket design was from here.

Also wanted to let Breanna, the winner of the giveaway, know that her 'Bella' package is on it's way.  Here it is:

It inspired me to get on and make some tags and think about packaging ideas for when I open my Etsy shop.  So many ideas, so little time!

That's all for today, have a good one! :)

Giveaway time on my other blog....

It's Giveaway Day at SewMamaSew today.  They are hosting a giveaway day from other blogs and sites and I'm joining in on my Sewing blog!  You can read about it here.

Giveaway Day is Here!!!

I love the idea of paricipating in Giveaway Day hosted by Sew Mama Sew.  In case you missed it, head over there to see what other goodies are being given away. They will be listing all the blogs and sites with giveaways.

As for me I'll be giving away a CUSTOM MADE personalised baby short sleeved bodysuit/onesie a little like the ones below.

The winner will get to choose either a pink or blue one.  The size is size 000 (0-3 months/6kg/62cm). The pink one will have a funky heart emblem and the blue one will have a funky star emblem.  I think I'll be able to get up to 6 letters on this size for the name.  Small names work really well :) !!!

The giveaway is supposed to be closed and drawn on the 6th December, but I'm on vacation until the 8th, so mine will be open until 9pm Western Australian time on the 8th December and the winner will be announced on the 9th in the morning (probably evening of the 8th in the US!)

So what do you have to do to be in with a chance of winning.....
  1. Leave me a comment in this post, telling me what was the best gift you got for your baby or what is the best present you have ever given to celebrate a newborn.
  2. To get another chance at winning, become a follower of my blog and let me know in another comment that you are a follower!
I'll then randomly select one winner.

I'm happy to ship internationally!!  I will contact the winner to see if they want pink or blue and to get the name, so be sure there is some way of contacting you on the link!

What if you don't win, but still want one!! No worries, I'll be opening an Etsy shop in February selling these and others like them.  Why not bookmark me or Follow me using the link in the side bar.  Here is the link to what will be my shop: http://www.sosewjo.etsy.com/.

Good luck and thanks to SewMamaSew for hosting! What a brilliant idea!
