Celebrate

My lovely friend Martine bought me a set of Cuttlebug embossing 'strips' a while back and I hadn't used them properly until yesterday when I was inspired to use them on envelopes.  They gave a great look to a plain envelope! Then I needed to make some cards today and was thinking up how I could use them but keep them as the focal point of the card.  Here's what I came up with.  Apologies for the terrible pictures I will change the pictures tomorrow if I get a chance when I can photograph them in daylight.  Hopefully you can see well enough for now.

Here is a better picture in daylight of another one I made similar but with a different sentiment

I made a few of these with different sentiments and ribbons.  They were remarkably simple but are quite effective really.

I'm putting this in for several challenges today:
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a fab day!

Peg Magnets

I love making these little peg magnets! You can put anything on them!  These ones are made with a selection of freebie digital sentiments available over at Create with TLC.  Paulette generously gives away freebies VERY frequently - join up as a follower so you don't miss out.  She also has a whole shop stocked full of goodies!  Normally these sentiment freebies are only for personal use, but if you want to sell things made with them you can now purchase a licence from her to enable you to do just that (like I did!).  Thanks Paulette! :)

I'll be selling these and others made with other stamps at a mini market on Wednesday at the Baptist Church in Karratha (9am - 11am).  I'll also have my t-shirts, baby onesies and other bits and pieces with me too.
Have a wonderful day!

Dad - DON'T Look - Birthday Card Spoiler!!!

OK so now we have that bit out of the way - onto the card!!  I used the sketch from Our Creative Corner.  Saw this colour combo a couple of years ago in a scrapbooking magazine and loved it but I don't think I have ever used it.  After much deliberation I decided not to colour the image.  My Dad is really into restoring old motorbikes so when I saw this image I knew I had to use it for him.  It was a freebie and there were others similar images there too.  The blog is called Digital Two for Tuesday and here is the link for the motorbikes. (That's for you Lorraine!! ;-))

I was given that teeny tiny mirror in a RAK quite a while ago, it was perfect for this card!

Well thanks for looking, have a great day.  I might try to sneak back to bed now!

Flying high

Morning all.  I am shattered!! Was up to the wee hours of the morning crafting with a few gals.  Yes I stayed up after you left!! I had to finish that card didn't I!?

I used the colours (ish) from this week's Colour Q.  I didn't have the exact colours so I went with the closest match.  I teamed it with the FTL clean and simple sketch.

The background stamp is Unity from a kit of the month.  I wasn't keen on the heart 'clouds' in the middle for this particular card, so I covered them with some hot air balloons from a set from Practicing Creativity.  I added dimensional magic to the balloons and raised them up on dimensionals.  I painted the clouds with white dimensional paint.  At first I had the sentiment stamped directly onto the blue, but we all decided it just looked lost, needed a bit extra colour to pop out, so I added the red strip.  I have to say I really struggled with these colours!

Here is a close up of the balloons.

My next post will be a card for my Dad, so Dad if you are looking then look away now!!!

Dream...

Wow two card posts in one day, what ever next!?  Surprisingly for me, this card came together quite quickly, I normally take hours to make a card!  Last night I wasn't sure if I liked it but this morning I think I do!

I used the sketch at Card Patterns, and rounded some of the corners, inspired by one of the demo cards on the site, Iwona's I think.  I've used up some old paper from Love Elsie, the sentiment stamp is Unity (I added dimensional magic to the clouds for a bit of shine and lift), the text paper was a free download from Mel Stampz.

The colour inspiration comes from the Tuesday Trigger picture over at Moxie Fab World.  When I first looked at the picture, the blue and white flowers actually looked like newsprint to me (!), it was only on closer inspection I saw they were actually blue and white stripes!  ANYWAY, I still think you can see it was inspired by the colours!!

Oh and here is the Trigger picture so you can see those blue stripes, or should I say the newsprint!

See Ya!

Cutesy Punk!

I stumbled across a cool blog the other day that had some great feebie digi images: Little Musings.  There were so many I haven't even had time to go through them all yet and decide which I will use.  Anyhow, here is a card I made with one.  This cute girl image(Jewell), came with one that was more punk chick. Now, I liked the punk one better but it just wasn't right for the card I needed this week so I punked up the cute one a bit with those stripy tights!

I've used the sketch with a spin from The Sweet Stop, they wanted us to decorate the inside of the card as well as the outside. Now I can't decide if I like the outside or inside better!

Here is the inside.  The bottom section is actually a pocket for a gift card to slot into.  The cupcake and sentiment inside are from There She Goes.

Have a great day!

Zzzzzz...

That's just what I should be doing right now!  This snoozing chap can be found at the DigiStamp Boutique.  I typed the sentiment on my PC.  Inside it says "Sorry the card didn't make it there on time! Happy belated Birthday!"

I used the colours from the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge and the sketch from Our Creative Corner.

Off to catch some zeds now!

Home Tweet Home

Here is a card I made for my good friend, Anick, who just moved home.   I based the colours for the image on the paper I wanted to use.  The images were freebies from the Doodle Pantry.  It comes with three sentiments.  I printed it twice and cut the little windows out of the lifted up one so it looked more real!  To get the woodgrain effect I coloured it twice, then with the same colour just doodled the woodgrain over the top.  I love how that turned out.

The sketch is from CPS.

Super Excited today!!

Sorry for the long time no post.  Been busy sewing and working and car boot saling! (Is that even a word!?) Not sure if you guys in the states are familiar with the term Car Boot Sale? It is basically a Garage Sale but in a central place with lots of people selling stuff.  I bribed my daughter to get rid of her old toys by telling her she could have the money we raised from it as her spending money for an upcoming holiday!

Anyhow the reason for my excitement? Two of my Father's Day cards got picked for challenges.  The tools one was picked for the Cards Blog Challenge: Father's Day. And the Super Dad one was picked for Sweet 'n' Sassy Customer Spotlight!  I am feeling Super Special!

You can  check out their blog here and their shop here.  I have a VERY long wishlist for this shop sat right next to my computer!

Have a fab day! I have an evening and day (tomorrow) of cardmaking planned! Yay!

Shark Fun!

Hmm do those two words go together, "Shark - Fun",  hmm I'm not so sure but this shark card IS a bit of fun!  I loved this digital image when I saw it on Nancy's blog a while ago and was so happy when she decided to sell her images on etsy.  You can buy this image here!  Be sure to check out her other cute images too!  He comes with three fun sentiments too, but I didn't use these as I loved the words on some patterned paper, that I thought would be fun to put together with the shark!

I used the sketch from Mojo Monday.  And I think, quite cheekily, this is my fourth entry to the Just Us Girls Digital image challenge this week! I LOVE using digital images as you can resize them, reverse them and re-colour the outline.

Well, here he is:

And a closer look:

Well I'm off to keep sewing, just needed a little break from it!  Have a great day whatever you do!

Father's Day Card #3

So here is the third and final card of the day! Now I have to hot foot it to the Post Office!!!  I used the Jim Relaxing Digital Stamp from DigiStamp Boutique and typed my own sentiments.  The paper was free when I signed up to get the Unity Kit of the month so I am afraid I don't know the brand.  I paper pieced Jim! Took Ages!  I've used the Sweet Sunday sketch.

Here is a close up and also the sentiment inside.

Thanks for stopping by.

Father's Day #2

Ok, so here is the second Father's Day card of the day! I used papers from Kaisercraft, the spotty one is flocked which I love! The digital image was a freebie from Beccy's Place (thanks Beccy!).  The sentiment I typed on my computer - I pinched the wording from a stamp set I am drooling over from There She Goes (just didn't have the time to wait for it to come over from the States, make the card and then mail it to the UK from Australia all before Father's Day! Sorry Jessica!)

I used the sketch from Card Patterns, and will also be putting it in for the Just Us Girls call for digital images (2nd entry there!)

Here is a close up.  I didn't have the right colour pen or chalk for the screwdriver handle so I paper pieced it instead!

I also decorated the inside a little bit too.

Father's Day #1

This is the first of 3 Father's Day cards that will be going up - hope none of the "Fathers" are peeking! Just in case, I won't be telling which one is for which Dad, you'll just have to wait and see!!!

I used this super fab fun Super Dad digital image set from Sweet and Sassy.  I also used clouds from a set by Practising Creativity.  Papers are from October Afternoon, My little Shoebox and Fancy Pants.

I'll be submitting this for the Get Sketchy Sketch, Pollycraft 'ribbon and bling' challenge and the Just Us Girls Use a Digi challenge.

Here is a close up, I've added the bling as his belt buckle and raised him up on dimensionals so he really looks like he's flying!  The clouds are embossed in white.

Thanks for looking! Have a great day I'm planning to make three more cards today and get started on some t-shirt orders, so busy day for me!

Thanks Sew Much!

Back from a long weekend away.  It was very refreshing to go somewhere where the pace is slower, we had heaps of fun camping in the rain, and thunder storms! But when the rain cleared and it warmed up a bit we had fun quadbiking and a relaxing time reading!
Last week a friend of mine loaned me her sewing machine when mine threw a 'wobbly'.  Sew today's card (couldn't help the pun!) is to say thanks to her for digging me out of a hole!  And as she is a fantastic quilter I decided to quilt her card! It seems my sewing machine is able to sew zigzag competently it just doesn't like doing blanket stitch at the mo! (Can't wait for my other machine to arrive back after it's service!).
Here is is.

I've used the sketch from CPS, and am also submitting it for the Pink Elephant Challenge to use Red, scallops and a bow.  I took inspiration from the Friends with Flair card over at Untiy drawing on the gingham and scallops. And I'll also be submitting it to Cas-tastic as they are asking for buttons!

Here are some close ups:

Have a fab day! I am off to clean my house as I have a rental house inspection tomorrow! And then a school fete on Saturday that I have a stall at, busy busy busy!!

Hey there Cupcake!

Here is a card I made using the Clean & Simple sketch.  I've used the Cupckae Inspiration for the colours and design of the cupcake and also used dry embossing for the Just Us Girls challenge this week.

Thanks for looking in today.  I had a craft market at the weekend which was very successful and took quite a few t-shirt/onesie orders so I've been flat out this week, hence not much new to share - sorry!

Well here it is:

And here is a close up.

Here are a couple of finished packaged orders all ready to go!

And I thought you might want to see my stall from the craft fair just to prove that I have been busy LOL!

Have a fab day and thanks for stopping by!
