Thrifty Halloween Costume

This year my daughter informed me that actually she didn't want to wear the beautiful pumpkin dress from last year.  She wanted something 'Witchy'!

I had picked up this fabulous teen dress (more like boob tube, that would probably fit on one of my legs!) from the Salvos thrift shop that had skulls, bats and spiders all over it.  So I decided to yield to her request and make her something new!  With the addition of a black t-shirt, some chiffon (from another Salvos purchase) and some velvet ribbon....voila: A 'Witchy' dress is born!!

Here is the Before picture of all the bits and pieces:

And the finished item:

Modelled by the 'Witchy' witch herself!

I'm joining in the fun at the following blog linky parties:

  1. Very cute! Witches were the "thing" this year! I saw lots of them... but this one has got to be the cutest! I LOVE the purple that you included in it! Thanks for linking up with Sassy Sites!

  2. Great job on the witchy dress!

  3. Your witch dress is so cute and creative, she looks adorable! :)

  4. Awesome job on the costume. It looks fantastic and your daughter looks adorable wearing it.

It makes my day to hear your comments, thanks so much for taking the time to leave a message! Jo :o)
