Get Sketchy Challenge 16

Here is my card for the Get Sketchy Challenge 16. I turned it on it's side.  The bonus challenge was Autumn, this was hard for me as I don't really feel very autumnal living in the southern hemisphere!

I also used a technique that I saw on Dawn McVey's blog and she had borrowed it from here, to make the paper flowers. I loved these, they were so easy to make and look really effective.  Here they are bit more up close!

Ronnie Rocket Baby Card

Here's a little card I made for the arrival of my gorgeous nephew!  I love these colours together for a little boy!  The rocket and name are lifted up on foam tape to add dimension.

SUPPLIES:
Paper - Kelly Panacci
Cardstock - Bazzill Bling (blue) & regular for the orange
Stamps - baby, sentiment and alphas are Stampin Up, Rocket not sure !
Embellishments - orange ricrac, Kaisercraft gems
Tools - circle and scallop punches from Stampin Up - Pastels - Versamark ink - clear embossing powder - dimensional magic

Giveaway Day at SewMamaSew

Babygro "Onesie" card

I love these 'onesie' baby cards that I have seen on blogs all over the place.  I think I first saw them on Lauren Meader's blog.  Her tutorial can be found here.  Although this one is alot bigger than the one in her tutorial, the theory is the same.  I just had to make it bigger as I was sewing on the fabric letters!  I made it for some friends who just had a baby for whom I had made a top with the baby's name on it can be found on my sewing blog here if you want to see it :).  This card was probably about 6 x 8 inches.

Choo Choo Luke!

I am sooo loving these t-shirts at the mo!! They make such cute special gifts.  I hope the recipient has already got it or they don't look on here yet!!  For this gift I made a matching card that you can see on my papercraft blog here.

Little Coke Can Fishies!

I made the little fishies on this card from a coke can!

First you drink the coke ;)!  Then you wash the can.  Cut the round ends off and iron flat under a tea towel.  BE CAREFUL: it will be very hot and the edges will be very sharp!!!! Once you have it flat you can cut out any shapes you like with some sharp scissors.  I then embossed it using a stylus on the 'coke' side.   Too cute.  The possibilities are endless for what shapes you choose.  And just think you are saving the planet at the same time!!

Butterfly Baby!

I have a new baby card to share with you today.  Some old Urban Lily paper I think, a bit of ribbon, a cute rub on, don't know the brand sorry.  And the butterfly was a My Mind's Eye rub on which I applied to some thick acetate/clear plastic and then cut out, bent up the wings and attached the body, to give depth.  And as per usual some stitching!

Inside the sentiment completes the phrase.

Cardmaking....Priceless

A good friend bought me this stamp and I knew just what card to make with it!! I love the way it turned out.  For anyone with a stamping addiction this is perfect!!

By the way, the ribbon poking out at the side is not part of the card, that was something inside!

Post it note holders

I saw one of these about a year ago somewhere and decided to have a go at making one too.  The one I saw was made with fabric paper (like the Love Elsie stuff).  I have made two using that, one is the loving couple above, but I find it to be really thick and quite difficult to work with.  So instead I decided to use some fabric (pink stripes) I had and apply fusible webbing (I think they call it wonder under in the US).  It worked even better than the fabric paper. 

These little post it note holders are great for popping in your bag, as because they are made of fabric they don't get all dog-eared bumping around at the bottom of your bag.

Raspberry Suite Colour Challenge 19

I love Dawn McVey's Blog: Raspberry Suite. She posts colour challenges on there, but I have never done one of hers before.  These were the colours this week.

And here is my card.

I used Merry Bella from StampingBella, Bazzill cardstock, a scrap of an old Daisy Bucket Christmas Paper, some flowers and the sentiment  and the snowflake stamp on the pink card is Stampin Up.  I love stitching on my cards, it gives them more depth and definition.  Thanks for looking.

Crayon Roll

Don't you just love the Crayon Rolls. I've been seeing them everywhere.  They are sooo cute, I had to have a go at making one.  I used the tutorial here.  They are so handy for little ones when you are on the go, doing things that you just know they will find dull: waiting with you at an appointment; waiting for dinner to arrive at a restaurent; car journey etc, you get the picture!  Here is mine.

I just loved this card  by Lexi Daly when I saw it in Stamp It!

I am shocking at remembering birthdays and then getting organised enough to get the card there on time.  I am full of good intentions, but.....  Anyway when I saw this card I knew I had to case it! 

Here is my version.

The sentiment inside was also 'cased', it reads:

I loved this card so much that I made three! So if I have forgotton your birthday then I am truly sorry for my ineptitude and hopefully one of these will be on its way to you!

Eli's bodysuit

I made this cute little bodysuit for my friend who just had a little boy.  Just love those fabrics together!

A few people are asking me if I will be selling these.  The answer is yes, I'll be opening an Etsy shop in the new year to sell these.  It will be here.

Whooo needs coffee???

I made this little set for a friend whooo just loves nescafe vanilla coffee.  So inside the gift bag is a pack of vanilla coffee.  I used the 'On a Whimsy' range from Fancy Pants for the bag: patterned paper and stamp set.  I just used my computer to print the speech bubbles.  For the little box of goodies I recycled a plastic container that had previously contained strawberries :), added maltesers and chocolate raisins, Yum!  I used the same paper range and the stamps were Chocolate Therapy by Inkadinkado.

Here are some of my other appliqued t-shirts.  I love making these. They are fairly easy and the kids love them because they are so unique to them.

Tinkerbell Birthday....

My daughter turned 6 this week, we were having a tinkerbell themed party, so I wanted to get her a Tinkerbell card but I wanted it to say daughter.  After searching I didn't find one so realised I would have to make one but as I definately do not own a TinkerBell stamp I wondered where to start....then I remembered the front cover of the invitations pack was still lurking around. So here is what I came up with.

I cut her out raised her up on foam tape, added some patterned paper, a few fairy stamp accessories and personalised and there we go, better than a shop bought one I reckon!

On a Christmas Theme!

Just thought I'd post a few Christmas projects from last year.  I'm trying to get myself in the mood for making Christmasssy things for this year!

Here are some little packets of reindeer food for little ones to sprinkle on the garden for Rudolph and friends.  Inside is a mix of oats and sprinkles!

You gotta love the Reindeer Poo idea!!! Inside are chocolate raisins but it would work just as well with chocolate covered peanuts.  Perfect stocking filler for those who have not been nice! Have you been naughty or nice?!!!!

A Christmas card.  What was a I thinking when I started to make this!? Threading all those beads on the wire and then stitching it on took forever!  I like the look though.

I think I got the idea for this from Splitcoaster stampers in this gallery somewhere.

A Kaisercraft wooden tree table decoration.

I taught this as a class a couple of years ago.  It is also Kaisercraft wooden hanging ornament.  Somewhere to place your Christmas wishlist, preserve your family traditions and keep last years Christmas photo on view!

I made these from a step by step tutorial on LSBS.  I love these as you can change the photo every year as they get older or just make a new one every year.  Great gifts to send out with the Christmas cards to grand parents or other relatives who live far away. And they are really quick to make too.

Once I get my butt into gear I'll put some of this years Christmas creations on here too!

I Love Applique!

I am really enjoying doing applique.  Here is a t-shirt I've made for my daughter.  She loves it with her name on.

Here is a closer look at the stitching after quite a few washes, it is still holding together! Yay!!

Meet me at Mike's: Mirabel Softies

I was recently blog hopping when I happened upon the Make a softie for the Mirabel foundation idea: here. I had a softie already made (pattern from Home Sewn magazine) that I didn't really have a home for (my daughter has way too many soft toys as it is!) so I thought I would send it in. Here it is.

Anyway my daughter caught sight of it and had an almighty tantrum because she wanted it, even when I explained where I was sending it to, it still continued! I thought the cause was lost on a, soon to be, 6 year old. Then a little later I heard her calling out that she would give it to the other kids but that it was "soooo beautiful!" So then I suggested she could help make one to send along with it. She did the design process (she said I should make one like her (much larger) Bunny blankie) and I made it! I prefer this one, even with it's wonky ears! It's made from a re-purposed fleece, a bit of red felt and embroidery floss.

Think I might make some more of these!

RaRa Skirt from Recycled Jeans!

Welcome to my new blog! This is where I intend to post about things I have made that involve sewing. I have been using my sewing machine for sewing in my papercrafts, but lately have started sewing fabrics too!

Here is a Ra Ra skirt I made from a pair of my daughter's old jeans that were too short for her but still fitted around the waist. The striped fabric was a shirt from a thrift store, too small for me but I just loved the fabric! I also appliqued a t-shirt to match her new skirt. She loves it!

First Blog and some old work!

Welcome to my papercrafting blog, a place I intend to put pictures of my papercrafting bits & pieces! Here is a few pieces of old work.

Here is a set of cards I submitted to a magazine. They published the birdie ones!  There are a mixture of stamp sets in here: October Afternoon, Kelly Panacci: Giggle, Stampin Up, and Autumn Leaves.
A journal I made for a friend of my Mum's.  I was inspired by a card I saw in a magazine or online somewhere that used a circle punch to make a tree like this one.  The person this was for loves all things to do with cherries, this paper is by Stampin Up.

A card made from a printout of fabric swatches that I just love, these are the Darla collection by Tanya Whelan. I just love her fabric designs. Thought it would be fun to use them on a patchwork style card.

Male cards can be so difficult at times!

I love these stamps together this has got to be my most repeated card!  This is CosmoBella from StampingBella.  The sentiment was from somewhere else (I don't remember where now) but I do know that stamping bella do one with the same words now.
