Spiderman swings by!

Made this card yesterday to match my Spiderman shirts that are available in the shop.  Love this! I used the current CPS sketch.  I rotated it 90 degrees and added extra ribbon!

Here's a close up.  I printed the image twice and raised spiderman himself up on dimensionals!

Have a fab day and thanks for stopping by!

Clean and Simple quick card

Morning all.  Just made a quick card using scraps from yesterday's cards.  I used the new sketch at Clean & Simple.  The flower and sentiment stamps are from the new Unity kit of the month.  And I am still so in love with those spots from the Practicing Creativity set!

Have a wonderful day today.  I have a fun weekend planned with two nights of crafts planned! I moved my sewing machine into the lounge room so I could watch the movie PS I love you whilst sewing, as it turned out I spent the whole time crying and the sewing had to wait til after the movie! Now I can't decide if I like the movie or the book better!  See Ya!

Two cards to share...

Hello folks!  Today I have two cards to share.  I made this Mother's day card for a friend to give to her Mum as a little thank you to her for something kind she did, hence the thank you card alongside it! Truth be told she forgot English Mother's day in England and is hoping to sneak in in time for the Aussie one instead!

For the Mother's day card I used the sketch from Our Creative Corner.  The colours (aqua, navy, brown, kraft and cream)  I used were from a card I saw along the There She Goes blog hop this week and I loved them but can't remember which lovely blog they were from (Sorry!).

The Thank you card, well, I just made.  But then when I looked at it again I realised I must have still had the Everything but the kitchen sink sketch still stuck in my head as it looks just like that!

I used stamps from Courtney Baker's Practicing Creativity range.  I was soooo excited when these arrived this week.  I used the 'For the love of dots' one to create the blue spot background on the kraft paper.  And the 'Look Up' one for the bunting banner.  The thank you stamp is an old Stampin Up one.  I am loving that ricrac, I picked up three different coloured rolls from the $2 shop. There were EIGHT metres on each roll! Bargain!

Well thanks for stopping by.  Have a fabulous day!

Clean & Simple

Just made this card last night using the current clean and simple card. I used the colours from the Embellish Magazine submission call.  They ask you to use buttons in intersting ways, well I used mine as an exclamation mark, not really sure if that is obvious or not, hope so!

I've used dimensional magic on the balloons to give then a bit of dimension!

Just listening to a song that I just LOVE by Sarah Blasko: We Won't Run.  I love her voice. However I just bought the album off itunes but unfortunately so far I only like 3 or 4 songs on it.  I suppose it was worth it as I do really love this song!!! I kept hearing it on the radio and then missing who sang it, then finally yesterday it was on in a shop so I was able to find out who it was! Yay!

Just read a fabulous book by Cecelia Ahearn (I love her books!) it was called Thank you for the memories! Brilliant read!

Oh well have a great day.

Turn Trash into Treasure...

As you know I love taking part in card challenges and one of the best parts of that is looking at all the other entries and seeing all the wonderful creations people have made.   On one such blog that I was nosing around I found a cool challenge that I'd like to share with you.  The blog is Seaglass and Sentiments.  The owner is Christina who makes some beautiful cards.  The challenge is to celebrate Earth Day.  She has challenged us to create something using something that would have been destined for the bin/trash, recycle it and make it into treasure.  Well I haven't got anything new to share for this one yet although I might have a go later this week. But I did take part in a similar challenge a couple of years ago and I thought I'd share with you two cards made using something from the trash!

The first is my little fishies card.  The fishies are made out of a coke can!

And the second one uses a plastic milk carton for the scalloped circle! I stamped and coloured straight onto the milk carton after punching it out.  It was pretty tough to get the punch through it but I did it!

Hopefully I'll get to do something new too for the challenge! Thanks for looking!

Rockin' Rainbows!!

It's official: I LOVE rainbows!!  After making the rainbow card last month for the 'fabric' challenge at Everything but the Kitchen Sink, I have been bitten by the rainbow bug!  I felt the need to add a rainbow shirt to my etsy shop and so I made this:

Here is a close up:

It will also be available as a Girls T-shirt soon too.

Thought it would be nice to start offering matching cards in the shop and so I used the current sketch [aptly] at Everything But the Kitchen Sink to create a matching card!

Have a fabulous day!  And thanks for stopping by.

Butterflies.....

I made this card using the Curtain Call Colour challenge over at Stacey Stamping Stage.  However I think my colours are decidedly more muted than the tropical ones there.  I struggled with the colours.  But I do love the new butterfly punch!

Here is a closer picture:

Enjoy your day. I just got some cool fabric in the post that I have been waiting impatiently for, so just going to sew! Although my machine has sadly been playing up for me lately!

Sweet Stop Sketch and Cupcake Inspiration Challenges

Made this card for my friend's hubby.  I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop and the images are digital and are by Kelly Medina and are available in a set from My Grafico. Graphics by Mygrafico.

I printed if twice on white card, so that I could raise the side of the boat and the little fish up on dimensionals.  I also printed it twice onto the blue patterned paper for the waves for the same reason.  The little worms are from the same set and I have added dimensional magic to them.  Here is a close up:

I've also made another little milk carton box using Lauren Meader's template.  I used the colours from the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge.  The little Get Well Soon image is a freebie from Meljen's blog.  It's so cute don't you think!

Just got this little butterfly punch from my local craft shop and I just love it!  Think we'll be seeing alot of that soon!  You can see the image better in this picture.

Thanks for looking, have a great day. Hmmm thinking of having a giveaway soon, watch this space......

Congrats & Girls Rock T-shirt

Hi there, hope you are having a great day.  Just been out to the park on our bikes to meet friends before it got too hot, which was lovely.  Now for today's post.

I made a card for a friend using the colour scheme at There She Goes and the sketch from The Sweet Stop.  Love this image from Stamping Bella.  I have paper pieced it and raised some bits up on dimensionals and added dimensional magic to the bump to make it a real bump!  In the close up picture the light makes it look like it's dented but I assure you it isn't! I like to add a little bit of cotton wool into one of the bags to make it look like a towel or something, saw that somewhere but can't remember where.  The papers are all Fancy Pants.  Here is the close up.

I've also been busy sewing! My daughter went to a rock star v. sing star day yesterday, so we felt it only fitting that she went dressed in some appropriate gear! This was made VERY quickly so please don't look too closely at the black stitching as I was going way too quick for it to be a neat job! And the guitar still needs a silver blanket stitch to hold it all in place but it was good enough for yesterday so here it is!

I will be adding this style to the shop but will be obviously re-doing it so it is perfect for my buyers!!!!  Will probably put the option to personalize it as well, so it could read "Jade Rocks!" for instance instead of Girls Rock!

Well have a great day! And thanks for stopping by! :-)

Jade's entry to TSG (Age 6!)

Ok so my daughter also loves to make cards! She is only 6!  She wanted to make a card for a friend she met on holiday, so she did it using the color challenge from There She Goes.  She had help with cutting the nestabilities but other than that she positioned it and cut the other things and stuck everything down and coloured the image herself!  Well Done Jade!

I'll post my entry later - the dimensional magic is still drying!

Unity!

I recently joined up to get Unity's monthly kit.  The first one I got was February's which I just love!  I made this card for three challenges!!  Firstly Unity's colour challenge was to use Pomegranate, Tangerine Tango, & Caramel.  And also to include Ruched ribbon!  It is also for the other Unity challenge Friends with Flair which was to take inspiration from a a fun card by Joslyn.  I took the spots and the doodling as inspiration and came up with this.  I used the sketch from Jacksonbelle Embellishments, just moved the circle up a bit!

The tree and birds are Unity and the sentiment is Stampin Up.  Here is a close up.

Thanks for stopping by - have a great day - would love to hear what you think and have a sticky beak at your blog! ;-)

Etsy Inspired Challenge

I just love colour at the mo! Rainbows are just perfect!  I think this is the first time I've palyed along with the Etsy Inspired Challenge.  I just loved this image of the little rainbow toadstool bracelet.  So decided to use that as my inspiration.  I love the way it turned out.  I stamped the images onto watercolour paper.

Somebody shoot me the next time I decide it will be a good idea to do rainbow stitching though!! 8 changes of spool and bobbin later (including the black frame!) I was really regretting the whole decision!

I used dimensional paint and dimensionals to pop up the clouds and give the toadstool spots some lift.

Thanks for looking and have a great day! I might upload another card later - I've been busy!!

Just bee-cause!!

Hello folks!  Right now I am getting ready to rush out the door to the gym but I wanted to get this up on the old blog before I headed out!

Made this card...just bee-cause (!) I liked the challenge colours over at Embellish Magazine!  I've used a digital image from Meljen's Designs (this one is actually a freebie available on her blog.  The layout is using the sketch from CPS.  I figured it fits with the nature theme at The Pink Elephant.  And finally seeing as there are buttons on it I'll submit it for the OCC Challenge this week.  Phew! Never done that many in one card before!

Here is a close up of the stitching around the buttons!

I just love that polka dot paper from October Afternoon!  Thanks for looking!  Have a great day, I'm off to the gym now!

Ethan becomes Emma!!

When I saw this Ethan Lollipop stamp by Lori Boyd at Stamping Bella I immediately thought of a little girl I know who is a bit of a tomboy and loves her skateboard.  Hmmm I thought I wonder....So today I have given little Ethan a transformation with a marker!  I hope he doesn't mind! I also gave her a smile and some little cheeks!  Hope that's OK Lori!?

I made this card using the Just Us Girls Sketch and the There She Goes challenge.  The challenge from TSG was to use three colours (OK so I hope it's ok to have added black and white!), two different types of patterned paper, a button and one ribbon. Oh and no other embellishments.  It was quite tricky to work with those strict guidelines.  I couldn't decide where to put the button and then thought I'd pop it over the top of the balloon!  The balloon stamp, sentiment and banner are all from There She Goes.

I also decorated the inside of the card.

Guitar Strings

I always struggle to make cards for males but making a card for a fourteen year old was more difficult than most.  In the end I settled on this guitar digital stamp from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.   I made this card in a bit of a hurry! I think I would have preferred more stars paper pieced but time just got away from me!

I'm going to submit this one for the current challenge over at Everything But the Kitchen Sink.  They are asking you to used string or something like string.  I'm not sure if silver thread counts but that's what I used for the guitar strings.  Think you can see it in this close up.

I was so excited today to see that I had been selected for the Trensetting Spotlight over at There She Goes stamps - that has really made my day.  I also had a couple more shout outs this week.  One from the Color Cue for my Owl Miss you card and one from Cupcake Inspiration Challenge for the three butterflies card.  So that was exciting too!  Feeling very special today. :-)

Camouflage T-shirt

Oh I had so much fun putting this shirt and other image options together!!  I haven't got a boy, but if I did I would so make him the army tank option!!

I am busy making t-shirts for a craft market in May.  I want to have one of every option available instead of just pictures, that way people get a much better idea of what they will get when their custom order is complete.  So this grey t-shirt for boys, will have their name and one image on the front in camouflage fabric.  I have shown one of the image options on the front and have three other options stitched on the back so it is easy for them to choose which option they want on the front of their's I hope that makes sense!

Here are the other picture options, starting with my personal favourite: the army tank!

And here is the t-shirt as a whole.
Thanks for looking, this will be in the shop later today!
